Fair, transparent, auditable

How review stays fair

The rules every reviewer follows. They are part of the published protocol, AI-PRF-0005.

  1. 01

    Assigned, not chosen

Institute and community reviewers are assigned by field and workload. Nobody picks which candidate they review. Public review is open to anyone.

  2. 02

    Anonymous until decided

Every reviewer sees the candidate as a number. The name is attached only when the certificate is decided, so all three stages judge the work, not the person.

  3. 03

    Conflicts declared first

Every review starts with a conflict declaration. A declared conflict turns the review into a comment with no score or verdict.

  4. 04

    One public rubric

Five criteria, scored 0 to 3, published in advance. Two are must-pass. Any score below Meets needs a written reason.

  5. 05

    Everything on the ledger

Every filed review is published with its scores, verdict and a chained digest. Reviews are never edited, only amended.

  6. 06

    Appeals heard by others

A candidate can appeal a verdict once. A steward who did not take part rereads the record and the appeal outcome is published.
